Hand-crafted Curly Maple Wall Art – Hummingbird Geometric Nature Wood Panel

This engraved wall panel is carved into solid curly maple, chosen specifically for its natural chatoyance — the subtle movement and depth that shifts in the light.
The design combines geometry and nature: a hovering hummingbird, botanical elements, butterflies, and layered circular forms arranged within intersecting lines. Structured yet organic. Balanced yet alive.
Each line was cut using a handheld guided router — no CNC, no automated machining, no digital mass production. Every detail was physically carved by hand, giving the piece slight natural variation and character that machine work simply cannot replicate.
Mixed dye stains and charcoal were carefully layered into the engraving to create depth and tonal contrast while allowing the maple’s natural figure to remain the star. The piece is sealed with a natural oil finish to enhance warmth and protect the surface.
