About Me

I’m Charlie, a woodworker and artist out of Ohio. I have always loved art since I was a kid. Unfortunately, drugs and alcohol really took a hold of my life for far too long and destroyed a lot of who I was. I spent two months in rehab with a few hospital stays in the middle. There I found the art room. I grabbed everything and anything I could create with. Over two years later I’m sober and creating with passion and the experiences of my life. I started woodworking in dad’s shop when I was around 8 refinishing old antiques and was always drawing and sketching. Got to highschool and soccer career took off. It consumed most of my love for art. Got a scholarship to play in college. Dropped out. Tried out for the Columbus Crew and got cut. I was lost. Drugs and alcohol quickly consumed my life. With that came all the bad things. Homelessness, jail, totaled cars, divorce, name it. I can’t remember when I first fell in love with art but I can tell you when I rediscovered that love and passion. February 7, 2024 was the day I died and I don’t mean figuratively. I was gone and revived. I drank for 23 years out of my 37 years, heavily. Woke up in the hospital bed with diagnosis of cirrhosis and ascites. In the moment of my sickest and worst time of my life for the first time, I wanted to help ME. The first thing my dad brought me in rehab was a sketchbook and pencils. I have experienced a lot of life in a short time and I’ve learned that there is never an end to learning, growing, and becoming a better version of yourself every day. A better version for you and only you. We are here for a time that will be forgotten so just live. Embrace the pain and the suffering so you can feel the joy and beauty. I’m going to continue to share, uplift and hopefully inspire with my art and my story. Just me and my fluff Arthur. Be kind but remember to be kind to yourself.
